Wheat Penny Lunch Specials

 Antipasto Salad

 A big salad made up of classic Italian before-dinner nibbles makes a terrific lunch. Salami, aged provolone and mozzarella cheeses, sweet/spicy Peppadew peppers, cherry tomatoes and marinated mushrooms all mingle with various salad greens, get splashed with an oregano-scented red wine vinaigrette, are showered with Parmigiano Reggiano and served with focaccia bread. 12.95   Add a grilled chicken breast for 2.00

Summer Panzanella

Local vegetables shine in this Panzanella, or Bread Salad. We toss sweet bell peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, cubes of focaccia bread, provolone cubes and torn bits of fresh mozzarella and bake it all in the pizza oven until it is hot. When it comes out of the oven, we add cucumbers and mixed greens and dress it all with sherry vinaigrette. It gets a tumble of basil on top. Yum! 8.95 

Chicago Style Chicken Parmesan Sandwich

 We gently pound a chicken breast and coat it with our parmesan panko breadcrumbs. It is quickly fried to order and topped with pizza sauce, a slice of our housemade mozzarella and fresh basil.  Mayor Daley would be pleased!   Served with housemade Jojos or vinaigrette-dressed greens. 14.95


Burger of the Week: The Bacon and Blue Burger

Bacon mixed into the burger, blue cheese melted on top, a tangle of crispy onion straws to finish- simple but oh so good!  14.00
